Cuban Style is one of the Dancing Styles of salsa, named after it's country of origin: Cuba. Many of the salsa styles of Southern America have great similarities with Cuban.

Typical traits of the cuban style are:

  • Different basic steps (more like a back basic)
  • Based on walking and moving in circles (as opposed to moving in a line)
  • Lady does less Right Turn derived patterns, more walking patterns
  • Loose tension in the arms
  • More arm movements
  • Basic figures like enchoufa
  • Start on 1, 3, 5 or 7. Which of those beats is not that important. It fits well with Cuban Music.

It is also closely related to Rueda de Casino.
